:: Enterprise Computing
Historically, computing trends have had a symbiotic relationship with other technologies and applications as well as our society’s corporate and popular lifestyle. :: Mobile Technologies Overview
With evolution of network technologies and mobile user devices as well as decreasing service and equipment pricing, wireless data is quickly becoming a critical operational component for different organizations. META Group predicts that 50% of enterprises will have wireless e-mail in place within two or three years, which will spark a run on wireless application projects. However, most projects will concentrate on some form of extension of an existing environment, such as VPN access to corporate network, rather than general-purpose mobile infrastructure. Determining a suitable mobile technology service will impact the selection of the service provider, user hardware, and the overall cost of enabling wireless data applications.
